MySpace’s $230 million victory against spammers

Yesterday, MySpace was awarded the largest judgment since the introduction of the CAN-SPAM Act in 2003.
MySpace sued spammers Sanford Wallace and partner Walter Rines when it uncovered the partners’ phishing scams that targeted MySpace users.
According to the lawsuit, the pair illegally obtained MySpace usernames and passwords, then distributed 735,925 messages to those users contacts. [...]
