Finally sent our site in for reconsideration through Google

Okay, I’ve had enough. This morning, I finally sent a Reconsideration request to Google. I just hope that we’re one of the lucky few to get an actual reply, because I’d really like to know what’s been going on with Google and our site.

If you haven’t been keeping up with this saga, it all boils down to spammers setting up Blogspot blogs using our stolen feeds. To make matters worse, they hide the feed so that when users do search engine requests for certain keywords, their splogs appear in the search engine results, but when the user visits the site, they see nothing but ads. That’s right, no content at all. And, no legitimate advertisements, because they’ve probably already had their accounts suspended for their schemes.

The most ‘legitimate’ company I could find on their splogs were from WidgetBucks. I sent an email to WidgetBucks to see what they would do about it, and well, they really don’t care. They told me that they’d send an email to the publisher. The point is that they didn’t say that they would immediately close the publisher’s account.

Well, now, I have to wait a few weeks to get a response from Google-if any. We’ve already waited 20 days (yes, we’ve been counting the days) for Google to get its act together and start listing us the way it used to. Wish us luck.
