Dear hosting customer: Don’t try to use that space that we sold you

Recently, there’s been a trend among hosts to not allow customers to use their purchased disk space. BlueHost, for example, outlines the following in their TOS:

Bluehost Web Hosting intends to offer services to host web sites, not store data. Using an account primarily as an online storage space for archiving electronic files is prohibited.
